Maybe you heard about them: the Mbt shoes that the Hollywood celebs swear by and walk around with to get fit, even though it looks like they are wearing caterpillars on their feet. But, then again, who doesn’t want to get fit and reduce those ugly cellulites once and for all? So I decided to give them a try. I did some research first, and yes, it was inspiring. Invented by the Swiss engineer Karl Muller, who originally developed Mbt shoes to cure back pain, studies showed that they had many more benefits; they improved posture, reduced cellulite, increased muscle activity to up to 30 percent when walking with them. A lot of research has been done on Mbt shoes and they are successfully used by athletes to gain muscles and strength in ligaments when injured.

Sounds good, I thought, and decided to give it a go. And, yes, was I happy after a month and a half! I really could see that my legs and thighs had become much more toned and firm. And I didn’t really do fitness walking with them or anything like that, I just used them at work and when I went shopping and walking with the dog. I simply wore them whenever I could in my everyday life. And about posture; they do work for that from day one. You automatically get a more upright posture when walking with them and that itself just feels great! I have now started to do some fitness walking with them; I’m trying to walk at least half an hour three times a week. I can’t wait to see the results from that!

What about the disadvantages then? Well, they take some time to get used to. It may feel a bit wiggly at first, so you have to practice a bit. And don’t be too enthusiastic in the beginning and walk for a mile or so, because you will get really sore! They take some time for your muscles to get used to as well. Don’t walk more than half an hour with them the first week.

But after that, put your Mbt shoes on and get out there.
